Objective:To compare the effect of CIALIS compared with placebo on erectile function in men with erectile dysfunction (ED).
Methods:A randomized, open-label crossover, double-blind, crossover, single-dose, parallel-group study was conducted in a total of 50 men with ED. CIALIS (Cialis vs. Placebo) were administered orally once daily to the study patients for a mean duration of 4.6 days. A questionnaire, a health assessment questionnaire, and a physical examination including a complete blood count, hemoglobin, liver function tests, and nitrate blood pressure were done before and after treatment. The primary efficacy endpoint was the change in the erectile function domain of the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) questionnaire in response to treatment with CIALIS.
Results:The mean age of patients was 50.2 years (range 22–80) and mean duration of treatment was 3.5 months (range 3–7). CIALIS was well tolerated with a mean increase in the mean score on the IIEF domain of the questionnaire after 4.6 days compared to baseline (p<0.001).
Conclusion:CIALIS is a well tolerated and safe treatment for erectile dysfunction in men with ED. This study shows that CIALIS is a useful and safe treatment for ED.
